MFF continues to go through the vaults of the AARC (Assassination Archives Research Center), in search of records which the AARC acquired but are not yet been posted on MFF. They have come up with another ~300 CIA records on some interesting subjects, well worth a look for those who are interested.
This is the fourth set of excavated AARC records to go online in the last year or so (see here for links to my notes on the other three). Records this time come from the HSCA Segregated CIA Collection.
Regular readers of this blog might recall that the segregated collection comes in two parts: hard copy and microfilm. The latest AARC records come from the microfilm series, and include docs from reels 23, 24, and 25. Reel 23 includes mostly docs on CIA wiretaps in Mexico City (LIENVOY). Reel 24 is records related to the Garrison investigation of the JFK assassination. Reel 25 records include over 200 docs on the anti-Castro group DRE.
Most of these records were previously unavailable online, or were available only in the “old CIA folders”, which had lots of redactions and no RIF forms.
MFF has posted these on the webpages for the respective microfilm reels, meaning these new imports from the AARC are mixed in with stuff that was put online years ago. I will eventually put up an excel sheet listing these newer finds. In the meantime, if you have specific questions on these three areas, trying doing a search using the deluxe MFF look-up engine. The text of most of the docs seems to be online and read for review.
